This costume was a big hit at all the Halloween parties we attended with our son! Everybody loved it. I had strangers asking to take his picture so that they could show others how cute it was and several people asked me where I purchased the costume.

However, on thing that bothered me was that the beard hung kind of long off of the hat. It does detach with velcro, so I ended up cutting the velcro pieces off and moving them up so there wasn't a two inch gap between his chin and the beard. (It kind of ruins the effect.) Easy enough if you're handy with a needle and thread...

The fabrics were not the greatest material, but you can't really expect high-quality organic hand-woven silk at these prices. :) That being said, it held up fine to a pre-washing and a couple of wearings.

The shoes also seemed quite large, but I slipped them on over my son's Robeez and they stayed on fine that way.

All in all, I loved the costume - we have great pictures and it was well worth the price.

This is very cute on! my son would not wear the hat or beard though as it was very itchy. Also beware the sizes run very small. We had to squeeze him into it.

I got this for my son for Halloween (18 months) and he was adorable, but it's pretty cheaply made. You can't get the costume wet or wash it. So it was demolished when he had jello for lunch at daycare. It also ran pretty small. I got the 24 mo size and could barely snap it closed. The shoes are more like slippers and didn't fit over normal shoes. The hat was WAY tight. But for the 30 seconds he had the entire outfit on, he was adorable :)

Firstly, to address the item itself: well-made, stops the wind, surprisingly warm. The palm and fingers aren't the usual Mechanix leather-like material; you can't use a touchscreen through these gloves. However, they're much less likely to get soaked with snow. These gloves are well-suited to working in snowy climes.

Secondly, to address other reviews: I'm a near-perfect fit for the Mechanix Wear MFF-05-009 Fast-Fit Gloves, Black, Medium (the thumbs are just a little short for me).

Reading all the reviews about how this winter glove was too small, tight, etc. I ordered a size up... and ended up with a glove that's too loose and too long in the fingers. Too loose to do any kind of manipulation; hardly better than wearing ski gloves. With a little wriggling to get past the wrist closure, I was able to fit my hand wearing the Medium Fast-Fits *inside* the Large Cold Weather Gloves with room to spare in the fingertips.

At this price it's not worth my time to return it, so I'll keep them as a spare. I'll be ordering another pair in my usual size.

I purchased these gloves (a second set actually) because I work offshore on construction barges and need warm set of windproof fleece gloves that I can wear all day that have a pretty rugged palm. These gloves fit the bill VERY nicely. The only complaint....the lack of sizing info is irritating. I had to get a sizing chart from the Mechanix website. They let you download a PDF chart wherby you lay your palm flat on a piece of paper and read the number next to a line and order your size. Here's the rub.... the sizing chart is COMPLETELY INACCURATE!!!!! If you size for an XL according to the Mechanix chart.... THEN ORDER A XXXL!!! Seriously! Order AT LEAST two sizes up from what the chart tells you, and they will JUST fit. Thank me later.

Not real happy with these gloves. The material on the palm is almost like a plastic so it is hard to hold on to wet items. They are not very warm even when the temp. is in the 40's.
